Getting Started.

Code of Conduct

Before anything else, please read our Code of Conduct.

It can be summarised in one sentence: Don’t be a dick.

We are all here to have fun. Play nicely with others.

Creating your Character

I have one strict rule for character creation

  1. Create a character that is fun to play

Check out here for the house rules including stat rolls for your character.

That’s it! We’re here to have fun and I am not going to be a rule Nazi. If you do want to play an Unearthed Arcana class then just run it past me first.

We use DND Beyond for storing your characters. Check out here for a how-to.

Backstories are encouraged! If you create a compelling enough backstory, I can implement it into the campaign. Front stories are encouraged!

  • Why is your character in the Moonshae Isles / Chult / Waterdeep / Baldur’s Gate?

  • Do they live there?

  • Where do they live?

  • Did they wander into town looking for adventure?

  • Are they there on a holy quest?

See here for some more hints on creating an interesting story for your character

And here is back story I wrote for one of the characters I play. Warning: I go into quite a bit of depth for my PCs!

Jaycey longed to find her parents who had abandoned her at the monastery

Communication

We will use Discord for voice communication. Here is the link to the discord server

Be sure to wear headphones when playing the game. This will ensure there is no nasty feedback.

It pays to invest in a decent microphone. This is the setup I use.

Artwork

I will need a piece of artwork from you that represents your character. I will covnert the artwork into token form that we will use in Roll20.

I have used Bubberlazer in the past for my artwork, See the accompanying dwark for an example
