Thanks so much for being part of this campaign! You’ll be making a real and meaningful difference in the lives of everyone involved in our schools in Uganda and Nepal.

Your Character

You can, create any sort of character you like within the rules. So feel free to ignore any of these tips and ideas.

This campaign is, of course, set in Waterdeep the City of Splendors and the vast majority of the adventure will take place within the city walls.

It would make sense if your character is based in Waterdeep and has some types of roots there so the character has a vested investment in this adventure.

Feel free to base the backstory of your character within Waterdeep itself. What are they doing there? Did they grow up there? Are they working there for some coin? Have they just left the monastery/temple/academy are ready to seek their fortune?

There are also a number of factions in Waterdeep. Those you choose Faction Agent as their background will automatically be a member of the faction. Other characters will get to join in a faction as the campaign progresses.

Starting Location: The Yawning Portal

The adventure, like many before it, starts in an inn. This particular adventure starts in the Yawing Portal which is a very popular hangout for adventures. Adventurers like yourself would be have made friends within the establishment. Here are the familiar faces in the Portal. Feel free to choose one as a friendly acquaintance for your character.
